ABOUT
HOMEOPATHY
What
is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a therapeutic art of cure based on nature's fundamental
laws brought into practice to heal the sick patients by its holistic
touch. It is the most gentle and harmless way of curing the disease
permanently
What is the principle of Homoeopathy?
There are two ways of treating the sick individual. One is by the law
of opposites and the other is by the law of Similars. Homoeopathy works
on the law of Similars. Simply, it means: -A medicine, which can produce
sleeplessness in a healthy individual, can cure the complaint of sleeplessness.
A medicine that can produce diarrhea in a healthy individual can cure
a person suffering from diarrhea. The medicine once taken stimulates
and enhances the body's own mechanism to fight the disease. It corrects
the body's immunity, which in turn fights the disease.
Who is the founder of Homeopathy?
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann who was Allopathic M.D. physician by profession
and a researcher in medicine is the founder of Homeopathy.
How was Homeopathy found by Dr. Hahnemann?
While translating Cullen's Materia Medica into English, he found that
the herbal juice of Cinchona bark was used to cure Malaria and is capable
of producing similar symptoms of that of Malaria, if taken by a healthy
human being. That is, the medicine which cures the disease is capable
of producing the same disease, if taken by healthy human being. Hahnemann
started proving the drug Cinchona bark on his own body by taking its
regular doses and surprisingly he found that the statement in Cullen's
Materia Medica is correct, as he found that all the symptoms of malaria
were produced in him. When he stopped the drug and the symptoms disappeared
and when he repeated the drug, the symptoms appeared. So, the year 1790
was probably the year in which the Therapeutic Law of cure was discovered
and probably a new era for Homeopathy appeared on horizon.
The
same drug in minute doses could make the sick person well provided the
symptoms were similar to the disease. Finally in the year 1796, essay
on Homeopathic Philosophy was published which is considered as the birth
year for Homeopathy.
